Antique Map of Asia – Johannes de Ram (c.1689)

A rare late 17th century Dutch black and white map of Asia by Johannes de Ram, titled ‘Nova Totius Asiae Tabvla Per Ioannem Ram’.

The map covering the area of the central Mediterranean and northeast Africa in the west to Asia, China, and to East Indian Islands.

Artist and engraver : Johanes de Ram (1648-1693),  is a Dutch engraver, publisher and dealer. Pupil of Romein de Hooghe, he worked in Amsterdam. In 1667 onwards he worked with Bleyswycks Beschryving in Delft.
