Hindoostan – Findlay, Kelly (1840)

An attractive antique black and white engraved map titled Hindoostan. (India, Ceylon, Andaman Islands). Engraved by A. Findlay and published  by Thomas Kelly.

The map was most likely from  ‘A New and Complete System of Universal Geography by Christopher Kelly’. It was first issued 1815-1817. Further editions are recorded in 1818 and later. Thomas Kelly was active in 17-53 Paternoster Row, London, between 1815-1830  (British Museum)

Condition: Very good; general age related toning; some light staining from handling and a small tear.
