A rare original map of Aceh topographic area titled “

Kaart van het gebied bezet in Groot-Atjeh / Vervaardigd volgens de nieuwste gegevens van het Topographisch Bureau te Batavia ” by L.W.J.K Thomson.

With close inset of Lehoeng or ‘Lhoong’, a prominent city in the northern tip of Aceh Besar province is present with detailed descriptions.

Artists and Engravers:

Lodewijk Willem Johan Karel Thomson (1869 – 1914) was a Dutch military commander and politician. He served as a member of the Dutch Parliament between 1905 and 1913. In 1914, he became the commander of a newly created International Gendarmerie force in the Principality of Albania.
